Assessment Systems

The recording, collation, tracking, analysis and reporting of student achievement information is integral to identifying school-wide learning needs of students. The development of cross-curricula and multi-level assessment and recording systems can be problematic, often requiring the need to change school culture and teacher expectations (Assessment systems may include the implementation of National Standards).

Package 1

This flexible and needs-based programme aims to develop or refine a school-wide system of student data gathering to enable effective programme evaluation and design, leading to improved student engagement and achievement. It incorporates the identification and implementation of national and school-specific assessment tools that analyse and report student progress over time (including National Standards). Staff will be supported in their use of national assessment tools and school management systems. They will be trained in the analysis of data and the development of recommendations leading to a better understanding and reporting of student achievement information.
